Ankle, Outside View (Lateral)

Do you have pain on the outside of your ankle? Lower leg pain? Heel pain?


Pain on the outside of your ankle or your lower leg may be attributed to many causes. Among them are:

  • Ankle sprains
  • Fractures of the bones in the ankle
  • Fracture of the tibia (bone which connects your knee to your ankle)
  • Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Diabetic peripheral neuropathy
  • Torn or irritated tendons and muscles (such as achilles tendinitis)
  • Circulatory disorders such as Peripheral Artery Disease
  • many other diseases and conditions
