Say Goodbye to Ugly Toenails!
Say Hello to walking barefoot again!
PA Foot & Ankle Associates offers a state of the art, safe and painless toenail laser treatment for unsightly, thick, discolored and crumbling toenails affected by Onychomycosis, commonly known as toenail fungus.
We were the first podiatrists in the Lehigh Valley to offer a laser treatment for toenail fungus and our experience is second to none.
PA Foot and Ankle Associates uses an FDA approved laser beam which is specifically designed to treat and cure toenail fungus. The laser light safely penetrates the toenail and kills the organisms in the nail bed that cause Onychomycosis.
Most patients need only one safe, quick toenail laser treatment with little or no discomfort. It is performed as an outpatient service with no anesthesia.

Is the toenail treatment painful?
Most people feel no pain. Some people feel a warming sensation and a small number feel a pinprick.
Is there a recovery period?
No. Just walk in and walk out.
How long does the procedure take?
About 30 minutes.
Is the laser treatment a cure for my toenail fungus?
In most cases, fungus infected nails are completely cured.
Will my toenail fungus come back?
The nail infection improves following one treatment and we will typically recommend care techniques to avoid the likelihood of a recurrence. However, there is a chance of reinfection, because fungus appears everywhere in the environment.
When can I paint my toenails or have a pedicure?
You can apply nail polish immediately after the treatment. But please remove all nail polish and nail decorations the day before your treatment.
How does the nail treatment work?
The laser light passes through the toenail without causing damage to the nail or the surrounding skin. It has no effect on healthy tissue and treats only the infected area of the toe. At the time of the procedure, the toenail will not become instantly clear, but will in time as the nail grows out. No drugs or topical ointments are used, eliminating the side effects of oral fungus medications.
Is this toenail laser treatment covered by my insurance?
If you have a health savings account or medical IRA, 100% of the cost may be covered. However, in most situations this procedure is considered aesthetic and therefore health insurance plans do not provide coverage.
